Description
If you are licensed in Maine as a Real Estate Sales Agent and you intend to continue to practice real estate, you must successfully complete the Associate Broker Course before the second anniversary of the issuance of your license. Our new class will quickly bring you up to speed with the skills you will need. Best of all, you can complete most of the class at your home or office, on your own schedule.
The class includes:
60 hours of course time, consisting of:
- 41 hours of self-study, on your own schedule, including reading textbook assignments and completing exercises for instructor review.
- 13 hours of Live Zoom classes hosted by our qualified Instructors (a 1-hour introductory session, and four 3-hour classes) where you will have an opportunity to hone your knowledge and skills, have your questions answered, and review your work.
- An OPTIONAL three hour review class prior to the final exam, to answer your questions and ensure that you are ready for success!
- 6 hours of online testing (Six 30-minute quizzes at a time of your choice, and one 3-hour final exam.)
Course Topics:
Negotiations and communications; Understanding Agency and non-Agency relationships; Land use issues; Property valuations; Financing; State and Federal laws; Contracts; Closings; and more!
The course is based on the book, Maine Real Estate Practice for Associate Brokers, by Charles “Kim” Coit.
Successful completion of this class includes:
- Attending at least 90% of class time
- Attain a passing grade of 75%+ by successfully completing course quizzes (30%) student portfolio, exercises, class participation (20%) and final exam (50%)
- Submission of a completed Documentary Field Experience form.
Voluntary student portfolio submission for instructor review:
- Sample listing presentation package: Day 3
- Completed CMA on a property of student’s choosing: Day 4
- Sample buyer counseling session package: Day 5
The course price includes all textbooks and materials.

- January 6 – Introduction class (60 min.)
- January 16 – Session 1 (3 hrs.)
- January 27 – Session 2 (3 hrs.)
- February 6 – Session 3 (3 hrs.)
- February 17 – Session 4 (3 hrs.)
- February 27 – Session 5 (3 hrs.)
- March 10 – Optional/Make-up Sessions (3 hrs.)
- March 13 or 20th – final exam
