About Course

There are four possible relationships you may have with a buyer:

1. Transaction broker
2. Seller agent with a buyer customer
3. Buyer agent
4. Disclosed dual agent

This course will explore each relationship identifying:
1. When the relationship begins,
2. Your responsibilities to buyers, and
3. How your responsibilities differ based on your relationship.

Section I: Solicitation Period
What can occur in the solicitation period is commonly misunderstood. This is a very brief period of time in which you are soliciting a buyer or seller without an expectation of compensation.

How are you working with your buyers? Do they understand their relationship with you? If you are working with buyers without a written agreement for representation are you being careful not to give any advice or provide any other client-level services?
